Originally assembled for remote recordings during the Covid lockdown - The New Orleans Night Owls is an allstar collaboration assembled by drummer/band leader extraordinaire Hal Smith. The New Orleans Night Owls’ wide-ranging repertoire includes: the 1920s jazz of King Oliver, Louis Armstrong, Freddie Keppard, Johnny Dodds and the Halfway House Orchestra; Classic Ragtime; and stomps and blues from the Traditional Jazz Revival circa 1944-1964.
